It is better to freeze bacon that has been cooked rather than freezing it raw. Frozen, cooked bacon lasts longer and retains better texture and flavor.
It’s easy to store cooked bacon in the freezer. Cook the bacon slightly less than customary, wrap it in paper towels and place it in a freezer bag. Freeze it for up to six weeks. Serve the bacon after heating it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
Raw bacon goes rancid quickly in the freezer. Freeze raw bacon only in the original unopened package. Double wrap bacon and use it within one month, as the quality and flavor declines rapidly after that time. Do not freeze unsliced bacon.
