Pillsbury and Kraft provide basic recipes for fruit pizza. Both recipes require basic fruit ingredients and can be changed for festive occasions and holidays by changing the types of fruit or arranging the fruit in festive colors and patterns.
The Pillsbury recipe includes 1 16.5-ounce roll of refrigerated sugar cookies, 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/3 cup of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. It also requires 2 peeled and sliced kiwi, 1 cup of halved or quartered fresh strawberries, 1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries, and 1/2 cup of apple jelly.
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 12-inch pizza pan with cooking spray. Crumble and press the cookie dough into the pizza pan. Bake it for about 16 to 20 minutes. Allow the cookie dough to cool.
Beat the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer until they are blended. Spread the mixture over the cookie crust. Put the fruit on the cream cheese mixture. Ensure the apple jelly is smooth, then spoon it over the fruit.
The Kraft recipe is similar, but uses 1/4 cup of apricot preserves mixed with 1 tablespoon of water, rather than the apple jelly. Both recipes yield 12 servings each.
