Outback Steakhouse uses an easy-to-make balsamic glaze on its wedge salads and some meats as a marinade. The glaze consists of these three ingredients: one-half cup of balsamic vinegar; one-eighth cup of raw honey; one-fourth teaspoon of sea salt.
To make the glaze like Outback, bring one cup of balsamic vinegar to a boil, then reduce the heat. Simmer approximately 10 minutes, or until the glaze is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. This glaze can be drizzled over wedges of iceberg lettuce sprinkled with bacon bits, thinly sliced red onions and a moderate amount of diced tomatoes.
