Bake rainbow trout fillets at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 13 to 15 minutes or until the meat flakes easily. Some good recipes for baked rainbow trout fillets are Herb-Baked Trout and Cajun Rainbow Trout Fillets.
The Herb-Baked Trout recipe calls for 1/4 cup of minced basil, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of olive oil, 4 6-ounce rainbow trout fillets, 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1 small thinly sliced lemon.
Combine the basil, lemon juice and olive oil in a small bowl. Lay the fillets in a baking dish that is large enough to comfortably hold them. Spray the fillets with cooking spray and sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Place the lemon slices on the top of each fillet. Pour half of the basil and lemon juice mixture over the fillets.
Bake the fish for 13 to 15 minutes. Remove them from the oven and pour the rest of the basil mixture over them. Serve the fillets hot.
