Paula Deen doesn't have a recipe available for 7-Up pound cake as of 2015, but she does have recipes for several different kinds of pound cake from chocolate to sour cream. Bake her southwest Georgia pound cake recipe by creaming, sifting and mixing together the ingredients.
Make a southwest Georgia pound cake by first mixing together 3 cups of sugar and 1 cup of softened unsalted butter. Beat in 6 large eggs, one at a time. In a separate bowl, sift together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Starting with the flour mixture, add it and 1 cup of heavy cream in small amounts to the sugar and egg mixture, mixing continuously. Stir in 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract, then pour the batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 75 minutes, then invert onto a plate to cool.
To make Paula Deen's perfect pound cake, beat in 1 8-ounce package of cream cheese along with the sugar and butter. Add 1/2 cup more of flour and an extra 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Dust the cooled cake with confectioners' sugar and serve with fresh berries.
