Almond milk is a healthy dairy alternative. Almond milk is low in fat and contains magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc. It also provides nutrients such as vitamin E, vitamin C, riboflavin, niacin, folate, B-6 and thiamine.
To make fresh almond milk, soak 1 cup of raw almonds overnight. Drain the water and rinse the almonds. Add 2 cups of water and almonds to a blender. Pulse a few times and blend for two minutes on high speed. Place the mixture in a nut milk bag and gently squeeze until you extract all the milk. If desired, add honey, sugar or agave to sweeten.
