Aldi publishes a weekly store ad on its website, Aldi.us. The store also publishes its specials for fresh meat and items with recently lowered prices.
As of 2015, Aldi operates about 1,400 stores in 32 states. Because about 90 percent of items in the store feature Aldi brands and not name brands, customers save money because they don't pay for marketing and promotion. Aldi works with its food suppliers to make sure all of its items meet or exceed name-brand quality. Other ways the store saves money is by charging a 25-cent deposit fee for shopping carts, so they don't have to hire cart wranglers, and by charging for shopping bags.
