How Do You Add Pudding to Cake Mix?

In recipes that call for using pudding with a cake mix, combine a package of dry pudding with the dry cake mix ingredients and blend it with oil and water. Pudding mix adds moisture and enhanced flavor to desserts such as yellow pound cake and lemon pudding cake.

Classic yellow pound cake that includes pudding is made by combining 1 package of yellow cake mix, 1 package of vanilla instant pudding mix and 4 large eggs along with 1 cup water and 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Grease a 10-inch Bundt cake pan and set aside. Combine the cake and pudding mixes in a large bowl with the remaining ingredients. Beat the cake mixture with an electric mixer for three minutes on high speed until the batter becomes smooth. Create a moist lemon pudding cake by combining 1 package of yellow cake mix with 1 package of instant lemon pudding mix, 4 eggs, 2/3 cup vegetable oil and 2/3 cup of water. Beat mixture on low speed to blend and beat another two minutes on medium speed. Pour cake batter into a prepared Bundt pan and bake for 50 to 55 minutes. Prepare icing by combining 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 2 teaspoons orange juice, 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon lime juice, whisk, and drizzle over cooled cake.
