What Is in a 3 Musketeers Candy Bar?

The ingredients of a 3 Musketeers candy bar include a milk chocolate mixture that is made from chocolate sugar, cocoa butter, skim milk, milk fat, lactose and soy lecithin. Other ingredients include sugar, corn syrup and a hydrogenated version of palm kernel oil or plain palm kernel oil. Each candy bar contains less than 2 percent of processed cocoa powder, egg whites salt and artificial and natural flavors.

A traditional sized 3 Musketeers candy bar contains 240 calories, 70 of which come from fat. Further nutritional information reveals that out of 7 grams of fat, 5 grams are saturated fat. A 3 Musketeers bar is low in cholesterol with only 5 milligrams; however, salt content is high at 90 milligrams. A single serving contains small amounts of calcium, dietary fiber, iron and vitamins.

The original version of 3 Musketeers featured three individual pieces of candy with different flavors. The original flavors were chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Due to World War II restrictions on sugar, the manufacturer got rid of the vanilla and strawberry flavors. Special flavors, such as mint, cherry, raspberry, coconut and orange, are produced as limited editions. The classic flavor featuring a whipped chocolate nougat center enrobed in a hard milk chocolate shell remains popular as of 2014.
