As of 2015, there have been 11 recalls concerning Graco car seats. Of the 11 recalls, nine were in relation to a fault with the potential to cause serious harm or injury.
With the exception of the 2000 Century® Infant Car Seat/Carrier recall, which resulted in 200 reports of injury, all of the recalls were made before any reports of harm. With all of the recalls, Graco offered to rectify the problem by either shipping a new part for the car seat or to replace the car seat entirely. Recall notices are often posted on the manufacturer's website, the store in which the seats are sold or, if the issue is severe enough, in newspapers or similar publications. It is advisable to register the purchase of a car seat whenever possible, as the manufacturer can then contact consumers with affected units.
