A number of health and parenting websites have height predictor calculators, including MayoClinc.com, WebMD.com and BabyCenter, com. These height calculators use the child's gender and the height of the parents to make their prediction.
There is no exact formula to work out a child's future height; however, predictors are usually reasonably accurate. Height is affected by genetics and medical conditions: it is important to remember that children grow at different rates. Height predictors can be inaccurate for children who are exceptionally tall or short. Plotting a child's height on a standard growth chart is a useful way of checking that growth is as expected.
