The three basic steps for writing a biography report are listed below.
Step 1: Choose a subject
Start by listing around 10 potential subjects, and then narrow this list to the best three. Briefly assess the amount of information available on each by talking to the subjects directly or conducting preliminary Internet searches. The more information on a subject, the better. However, to make a final decision, evaluate which subject is the most significant or interesting to write about.
Step 2: Research
Using the Internet, libraries, newspapers and interviews (if possible), compile notes on the chosen subject. These should include both basic details (like birth, death, family and education) and deeper information such as the subject's anecdotes, interests, aspirations, life events and role models.
Step 3: Write the report
Starting with the most interesting or significant event in the subject's life as a lead, proceed honestly and accurately with an introductory section describing their significance followed by a main body section telling the chronological story of the subject's life and a concluding section relating back to the opening lead. Quotes from the subject may be used throughout for illustration and support.Learn more about Academic Essays
