What Is The World Factbook?

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency publishes The World Factbook online, which is a compilation of information about every country in the world. Facts included for each country include the country’s history, people, economy, government and geography. Other facts include each country’s transportation and energy infrastructures, military, communications, and issues faced.

Information about individual countries is available by choosing the country from the drop-down menu on The World Factbook’s home page on CIA.gov. Each country’s page features a picture of the country’s flag, photos of landmarks within the country, and tabs for accessing different topics about the country. The site also offers regional and world maps, flags of the world, a guide to country comparisons, and The World Factbook User Guide.
