Among Louisiana’s well-reviewed technical colleges are Louisiana Tech University, Northeast Louisiana Technical College and Central Louisiana Technical Community College. Of particular note are the number of programs offered by the first, and the rate of graduation achieved by the second and third as of 2015.
Louisiana Tech University was acknowledged in 2011 for the number and variety of programs it offers students, according to U.S. News & World Report. It has 125 undergraduate and graduate programs, and the report found it is the 115th top public school.
Louisiana Tech is a four-year public institution offering associate, bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees. It also offers post-baccalaureate and post-master's certificates.
Northeast Louisiana Technical College had the highest graduation rate for the 2010-2011 academic year, and Central Louisiana Technical Community College had the second highest. These rankings are based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics.
In fact, 98 percent of the students who enrolled at Northeast Louisiana Technical College in the fall of 2008 completed their educational programs. The overall graduation rate at Central Louisiana Technical Community College during this same period was 67 percent.
Central Louisiana Technical Community College is especially noted for placing emphasis on preparing students for the workforce. Among its services are coordinators to help students transition from school to the workplace. Both schools are two-year public institutions offering certificates and associate degrees.
