DesignIntelligence's 2015 rankings for the top-five undergraduate architecture programs in the United States include Syracuse University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Rice University, California Polytechnic State University and, in the top spot, Cornell University. The top graduate programs were ranked from Cornell University in the fifth spot, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in fourth, Yale University in third, Columbia University in second and Harvard University in the top spot.
To compile the rankings of best architecture schools in the United States, DesignIntelligence surveyed 1,400 professional practice organizations and asked them what school their best hires in the past five years hailed from. DesignIntelligence is a bi-monthly journal that reports on the latest trends and news in the architecture industry.
The remainder of the top 10 list for undergraduate programs includes the University of Texas at Austin in the sixth spot, Rhode Island School of Design in seventh, Southern California Institute of Architecture in eighth, Pratt Institute in ninth and the University of Southern California finishing the list in 10th.
The remaining graduate schools on the top 10 list are University of Michigan in sixth, Rice University in seventh, University of Pennsylvania in the eighth spot, University of California, Berkeley in ninth and Washington University in St. Louis in the 10th spot.
