WebQuests are research-based learning activities in which all of the activities and information are acquired from the Web. A WebQuest guides the students from the beginning of a project to the end by offering links to resource materials and study activities.
WebQuests allow students to work independently to explore issues, utilize their critical thinking skills and come to conclusions based on their research. The teacher is the facilitator of learning by guiding students in a specific direction, rather than being a dispenser of knowledge. Tasks included in effective WebQuests require higher-order thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills. Student engagement is often very high when completing WebQuests.
