Software requirements for the UDS-FIMi kit include using an IBM-compatible PC with a Pentium P4 processor of 1-GHz or higher. The software requires a minimum 256MB RAM for Windows XP, and for all other operating systems a minimum of 128MB RAM. Browser requirements are Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer. Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or newer and a video card that supports 1024 x 768 resolution are also a requirement. Internet connection must be T1 or fractional T1 DSL.

UDSMR's subscription sales team provides facilities with on online demonstration of the system's use as well as how to generate reports from data in the system. The data is useful for a range of research projects associated with medical rehabilitation functional assessments.
