Blinn College offers a variety of courses through online instruction. For the Fall 2015 semester, students can take classes such as Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology (both the lecture and lab portions), Composition and Introduction to Literature, Physical Geology, United States History I and Calculus for Business and Social Sciences.
Nearly all of Blinn College's disciplines have courses that can be taken online. For example, Philosophy, Anthropology, Arts, Communications and English are liberal arts departments that offer courses online. The science departments offer a variety of online courses in disciplines such as chemistry, geology, biology, psychology and mathematics. A few departments do not offer courses online, at least not for the Fall 2015 semester, and they include architecture, engineering, physics, veterinary and nursing.
Blinn College's eCampus virtual classroom environment allows students to interact with their instructors and fellow students. Even though the course is an online course, students should be aware that some courses may require on-campus sessions for exams, orientations, reviews, and laboratories.
Blinn College also uses SmarterMeasure assessment, which is a Web-based tool that helps to determine if a student is a good candidate for online learning. This tool assesses attributes such as motivation, discipline, time management skills and the ability to use a computer and its peripherals.
