The North Carolina end-of-grade practice tests are available for students from the third to the eighth grade, and are comprised of mathematical, reading comprehension, English, and science-related questions. Practice tests are available online at NCPublicSchools.org.
Content between each practice test varies according to grade level. For example, mathematical questions on the eighth-grade EOG practice test include algebraic equations and questions regarding finding percentages of whole numbers, while questions on the third-grade math practice test relate to multiplication and division problems.
English-related questions on the practice test for the third grade include questions on the content of short pieces of literature, while the eighth-grade practice exam includes questions about the interpretation of the provided literature and intent of the author.
Science-related questions for the fifth and eighth grades are similar in regards to subject matter, focusing on lab rules, scientific vocabulary, physics and chemistry.
