Located in the Boston area, Harvard University with around 725 students, has the largest enrollment of all the top medical schools. It is also the most expensive at about $54,200 per year for tuition as of 2015. Stanford University, which is in Palo Alto, California, has about 470 students and charges about $50,000 in tuition. Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland, has about 460 students in its medical school. Its tuition is just under $50,000 per year.
The most affordable of the top five medical universities in the country is the University of California, San Francisco with a tuition of just over $32,000 for in-state students. Even out-of-state students pay only $44,000 per year, which is more affordable than other programs. This program has an enrollment of about 660 students. The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is about $50,000 per year and has an enrollment of about 650 students.
Other top medical universities include Washington University in Saint Louis, Yale University, Columbia University and Duke University. The University of Chicago, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and University of Washington in Seattle are all tied for 10th place on this list.
