The Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Southwest College and West Los Angeles College are tech colleges located in the city of Los Angeles, California. The community colleges offer a wide variety of technical certifications, employment certificates and associates degrees.
Founded in 1925, Los Angeles Trade-Tech College is the oldest of the Los Angeles Community College District's two-year public colleges. LATTC has the most tech-oriented programs of any Los Angeles area school with over two-thirds of the instructional facility dedicated to career education.
Los Angeles City College is located off of the 101 freeway on Vermont Avenue and has a range of technical education offerings. Nursing, Dental Technology, Computer Technology, Cinema and Television Production and Paralegal programs are just a few of its options.
Business and computers are a large part of the Los Angeles Southwest College Curriculum with business programs, including Business and Technology skills and Management and Supervision. Students interested in technology can choose from Website Designer, Computer Technician and Telecom and Network Technician programs, among others.
The West Los Angeles College offers some programs unique from the other schools, such as Aviation Technology, which trains students for a career in aircraft maintenance. All graduates are Federal Aviation Administration certified. Another unique program is the Motion Picture and Television Production Crafts, which includes the study of crafts such as grip, set decorating, costuming and camera sound and editing.
