Sweet Briar College is located in Sweet Briar, Virginia, about 10 miles south of Lynchburg and about 100 miles west of Richmond. The campus, which occupies 3,250 acres in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, sits on the former estate of the college's founder, Indiana Fletcher Williams.
The Princeton Review and other publications recognize Sweet Briar College as one of the United States’ most beautiful college campuses. Its campus is home to 30 buildings, six nature sanctuaries and two lakes, and is near Shenandoah National Park and Jefferson National Forest. Nearly all of its undergraduate students live on campus.
