None of the SUNY colleges and universities have ever been ranked anywhere near the top 10 nationally for academics. Schools ranked this high by most publications include several Ivy League institutions, Stanford, Duke and others.

According to U.S. News, Stony Brook University, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Binghamton University, SUNY at Buffalo and SUNY at Albany are the strongest SUNY schools in regards to their overall academic profile. These schools rank between 82 and 128 in their National University Rankings.
