The services Apex Fun Run provides are to set up and organize fun runs for schools. This organization helps teachers and schools to earn money for classrooms while teaching students valuable lessons in leadership and responsibility.
Apex Fun Run spends two weeks prior to the run in the classroom, teaching students a specific curriculum about fitness and leadership. For instance, the curriculum one year had the theme of Power Up. Each letter focused on different aspects of fitness and leadership. The first day, the students learned about positive attitudes for the letter P. The following days included others first for O, work together for W, exercising the mind for E and responsibility for R. The entire two week curriculum and fun run are organized and initiated completely by the Apex team, which includes athletic individuals.
Those schools qualified to fund raise with Apex must have above a certain number of students enrolled and receive few government subsidies. The school then purchases the fundraising program. As of 2015, Apex is working to build a program for non-qualified schools as well. The Apex program is designed to take the place of the many fundraisers that schools run every year. One year, schools in the Phoenix raised more than $2 million.
