Schools offering courses in fault finding for combination boilers include the Gastec Training and Assessment Centres, The City of Liverpool College and Mr. Combi Training. Most courses are open to engineers and installers with any level of background experience.
Gastec's program includes lessons on understand how combination boilers work, including their functions, controls and manufacturer's instructions. The course also helps students identify problems in individual boilers, as well as emphasizing fault finding and rectification skills. Students who complete the program earn an Achievement Certificate.
Students who complete the City of Liverpool College program earn a BPEC certificate in combination boiler fault finding and testing. Coursework emphasizes electrical testing using multimeters and voltage Indicators.
Mr. Combi offers a day-long course in fault finding. Students learn about multimeters, electrical safety tests, switches and other features of boilers, and they have the opportunity to practice their skills on more than a dozen faulty boilers.
