What Is SAT Biology?

SAT biology refers to the two biology subject tests that are taken by students who plan to pursue a science major. The two include the Biology-E (Ecological) and Biology-M (Molecular) test variants. The tests determine the extent of familiarity with and understanding of high school level biology concepts.

Each test features 80 multiple-choice questions, 60 of which are identical between the two tests. The other 20 are specialized questions that are tailored to each test individually. Students have 60 minutes to complete either test. The Biology-E test is recommended for students who are versed in biological communities and energy flow, while the Biology-M test is recommended for those who are knowledgeable about biochemistry and cellular structure.
