The San Diego Regional Occupation Program provides occupational training programs to over 45,000 students and adults in California each year. Students must be over the age of 16 to take part in the classes. The program offers over 265 tuition-free courses as well as college-credit courses.
Started in 1969, the program provides training in a variety of areas such as technical preparation, post-secondary articulation and school to career, career development, and work site learning. The program works with local San Diego school districts and features a yearly budget of approximately $34 million. The program received its accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and employs accredited teachers.
