Reputable summer math programs as of 2015 include the AwesomeMath Summer Program, the Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists, and Mathematics Infused with Levity. These programs prepare students with an interest in mathematics for further study in the field, competitions and higher-level research.
Mathematics Infused with Levity, also known as MathILy, strives to connect and challenge diverse, talented students in an environment that is both fun and academically rigorous. Geared towards high school students, the program takes place at Pennsylvania's Bryn Mawr College over five summer weeks.
AwesomeMath Summer Program takes place over three weeks and draws academically talented young mathematicians from all over the world. Students develop and improve their often already advanced abilities and add to their problem-solving repertoire. The program offers multiple campuses throughout the United States and multiple start dates over the course of the summer. AwesomeMath accepts students between the ages of 12 and 18. Students younger than 12 must demonstrate a precocious level of maturity to be considered.
The Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists (PROMYS) runs over six weeks at Boston University. The program provides a supportive framework for interested, motivated high school students to pursue creative mathematical study. The program features academic study as well as mathematical research and caters to students between the ages of 15 and 19.
