Edutopia and Literacyworks provide reliable multiple intelligence quizzes. These quizzes are based on the theory of multiple intelligences, which affirms that there are multiple types of human intelligence, each corresponding to a different way of processing information.
Both tests contain questions about a person’s daily activities, likes and dislikes and behavior in different situations. The MI profile of a person is evaluated based on his responses. The test by Edutopia, an organization that works in K-12 education, is adopted from a questionnaire by Branton Shearer of M.I. Research and Consulting.
Howard Gardner, the Harvard professor who originally proposed the MI theory, was skeptical of the notion that a person’s MI profile could be uncovered by a quick test or checklist. He contended that it required observation of the subject over a large period of time. Although the results may not be wholly accurate, questionnaires are, nevertheless, used for assessing multiple intelligences.
