Metropolitan State University of Denver is comprised of four main academic divisions: the College of Business; the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; the College of Professional Studies; and the School of Education Within the College of Business, students can major in accounting, computer information systems, economics, finance management and marketing. The College of Letters, Arts and Sciences awards degrees in childhood communication, environmental science and philosophy.
In addition to its regular academic offerings, Metropolitan State University of Denver has also developed several special programs. The Internship Program works to help students find internship positions that correspond to their academic focus. The First Year Success program facilitates new students' entries into the school's academic and social life through co-curricular activities, peer support and networking with other students. The Family Literacy Program educates disadvantaged families in basic life skills.
