Kumon implements studies for students from kindergarten through 12th grade in their own centers. The Math topics are counting and number sequences, addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division. Kumon also covers fractions, order of operations, positive and negative numbers, solving equations and graphing; in addition to advanced algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and probability and statistics. The Reading program covers pre-reading skills, letter sounds, vocabulary, and grammar and punctuation; in addition to sentence building, understanding paragraphs, passage structure, reading comprehension, summary. It also covers interpretation and critical reading.
