Some places that offer free welding training include Fluor's welder training program, which is held in two locations: Houston, Texas, and Greenville, South Carolina. Participants are required to bring their personal protective equipment during the training period, in addition to taking care of their own housing and meal provisions.
Fluor's pre-employment no-tuition welder training course is designed for proficient plate welders who want to acquire extra skills for boiler tube and pipe welding. Entry into this program is limited based on available space. Participants undergo 480 to 640 total training hours to complete the course.
Individuals can also apply for free welding training at Lone Star College in Texas. In collaboration with Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Solutions, Lone Star College System offers free training services for employees who lack financial means, including workers in the welding industry.
