"Phim bo mien bac" is a Vietnamese phrase that roughly translates to "northern film" in English. It refers to Northern Vietnamese films and the industry surrounding them.
The Vietnamese film industry boomed during the early 20th century, and many of the films were shaped by the wars fought in the region.
