Full Answer

The school and district boundaries map on GreatSchools.org shows the name of the school district in which a particular address is located. The map also shows the boundaries of the school district on the map. Using the drop-down menu to the left of the map, parents can choose to view neighboring school districts.

Schools in the selected district appear on the map as colored circles. The number in the circle indicates the rating that GreatSchools assigns to the school. Schools rated a number of 10 are the best schools, whereas those rated one are the worst. By default, only public schools that are part of a school district are shown on the map, but parents can choose to also show schools that are not part of a district, such as charter or private schools.

A similar online tool for finding school districts is SchoolDistrictFinder.com. When a user enters an address into the search bar, this tool shows local school districts and local schools on a map.
