Students can learn at their own pace or complete the course in as quick as three months, claims Ashworth College. The terminology covered include terms for diagnoses, disease, treatments, bodily functions and anatomical structures. Upon completion, students receive a certificate.
The AAPC offers an online medical terminology course that even students without previous medical knowledge can take. The course introduces medical coding terminology and covers these terms from the perspective of a coder, the AAPC explains. Students have to complete the 21 chapters, 10 tests and final exam two months from the date of purchase or be charged extra, as of January 2015.
