Some of the online courses offered at the Community College of Allegheny County include accounting, criminal justice and criminology, computer information systems, business management and women’s studies. Online courses in graphic communications, tourism management, psychology and multimedia web programming are also available at the college.
The Community College of Allegheny has 14 associate’s degrees and 12 certificate and diploma programs that only require online courses for completion, as of 2016. Students can complete the Associate’s degrees in Business, Accounting Specialist, Information Technology Support and Software Development entirely online.
The college has a further 31 associate’s degrees and 10 certificate and diploma programs that students can partially complete online. Students can take some online courses as part of their traditional Associate’s degrees in Industrial Design & Art, Aviation Management, Social Sciences and Civil Engineering Technology. The college’s Dietary Manager and Medical Insurance Specialist certificates and diploma programs also allow students to complete the required coursework through online courses.
The Community College of Allegheny has four campuses in Pennsylvania. Two of the campuses are in Pittsburgh while the other two are in Monroeville and Mifflin. The Allegheny County executive nominates a 15-member Board of Trustees to govern the college. The Allegheny County Council confirms the nomination of this Board.
