As of 2015, Alison.com offers a course entitled Human Health - Diet and Nutrition, which covers general principles of human health in the modern world. The course examines dietary imbalances and the relationship of the ratio of fats, carbohydrates and proteins to human health. Successful completion of the course leads to a certificate of completion.
Some of Class Central's courses have starting dates, whereas others are self-paced. Courses include Smarter Eating For Better Performance and Basic Food Safety. Coursera partners with the University of Florida to offer a free online course entitled Fundamentals of Human Nutrition. This is an introductory-level course that covers basic concepts of nutrition, food digestion and absorption, effects of nutrient deficiencies, guidelines for healthy diets and sources of food nutrition.
