The GI Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millenials are names of different generations. Generation Z is also considered a generation as of 2015. These names represent groups of people born in the same date range with similar cultural experiences.
The GI generation, sometimes called the Greatest Generation, includes people born between 1901 and 1924. They were teenagers during the Great Depression and fought in World War II. The Baby Boomers were born between 1943 and 1964. They protested the Vietnam War and participated in the civil rights movement.
People born between 1965 and 1979 are members of Generation X, also known as the MTV generation.
During their teenage years, Generation X experienced the fall of the Berlin Wall and the AIDS epidemic. Millenials, also called Generation Y, were born between 1980 and 2000. They lived through September 11, the rise of the Internet, and are said by some to be entitled and narcissistic. Members of Generation Z, sometimes called the iGeneration, were born between 2001 and 2013. They were born during the existence of the Internet and are the most technology-dependent generation.
