A Master of Science in Management (MSM) degree is a graduate-level degree. It focuses on teaching business leadership strategies for middle- and upper-management candidates prior to entering the business administration workforce.
The major difference between an MSM and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is that an MSM does not require prior job experience. Many universities, in fact, allow undergraduates to begin working towards their MSM as they are concurrently completing their bachelor degree.
Many MSM programs claim that completion of this degree will allow graduates to gain a competitive edge in the global business environment. This is achieved through study of business initiative strategies and will create more opportunities for advancement.
