McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders is a reading program designed by McGraw-Hill Education to incorporate the Common Core State Standards for Reading/Language Arts for kindergarten to grade 6. It uses both print and digital media to help students build a strong reading foundation. McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders also provides teachers with lessons that can be used Common Core State Standards instruction.
McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders provides a set of core lessons so teachers know what they have to teach. A book of short reads is provided for each grade to help teach close reading of text. A guided practice of key reading and language skills is also a part of McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders. Materials include a set of student materials, teacher materials, manipulatives, leveled readers and other resources. The materials are used to help students with their reading comprehension.
One example of a McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders package is the one provided for second grade. Student materials include subscriptions to the comprehensive program, digital program, or reading/writing workshop. Students can also purchase the "Your Turn Practice Book." Teacher materials include weekly assessments and a balanced literacy guide. Other options that can be purchased in the McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders are reading response boards, visual vocabulary cards, countdown to core assessment, workstation activity cards and high-frequency word cards.
