Students learn mathematics through quality teaching and close work with professors at State University of New York Oswego. The program prepares students for immediate employment or graduate-level studies.
Students can choose from a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics or Bachelor of Science degrees in applied mathematics or applied mathematical economics. Minor options include mathematics and applied statistics. Some students choose a double major in mathematics and secondary education.
The mathematics department has an active mathematics club, and students can also participate in research or other projects with their instructors. As of 2015, recent research topics include mathematical modeling, Ramsey numbers, computational combinatorics and the history of mathematics.
