As of 2015, BBC's "Dance Mat Typing" has four levels and 12 stages total. Each new stage builds on the lessons in the previous levels.
"Dance Mat Typing" is an interactive learning game for children. The game teaches kids how to properly type on a standard computer keyboard. It begins with basic tasks and focuses on learning the home keys. As the game progresses, the players learn how to use punctuation keys and the Shift key. Throughout the game, characters assist players by providing tips and offering encouragement when the player makes a mistake.
After players complete the game, they can visit one of BBC's other computer-related courses. These children's courses explain information technology concepts in a way that is easy for children to understand.
