How Many Levels Are Available to Students in the Lexia Reading Program?

Lexia Reading Core5 consists of 18 levels that allow students to independently progress through the program at their own pace. The program is designed to enhance reading performance for students who are below-level, on-level or advanced in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Lexia Reading is also used as a remedial in middle school and high school learning environments,

The Lexia Reading program focuses on six key processes involved in learning to read, beginning with phonological awareness and building up to abstract comprehension that engages higher-level thinking skills. When a student first enrolls in the program, the software assesses the student’s reading abilities and creates a personalized plan based on his strengths and weaknesses.

A student may work independently with the Lexia program, whether he is at home, at school, in the library or at the park through the software’s web-based app or iPad app. Each lesson includes detailed instructions and the program provides instant feedback when a question is answered incorrectly. Lessons follow a logical sequence and build upon previously mastered concepts to help students improve in all areas of reading as they move through each level. The activities included in all 18 Lexia Reading Core5 levels align with Common Core State Standards for elementary school reading.
