The types of online courses offered by the Virtual Center of Excellence (VCE) include the requirements to report abuse and neglect of children, nondiscrimination training for both employees and leaders and on emergency preparedness. VCE offers both live training and online courses that may be for continuing education credits or as part of training needed for compliance. Healthcare professionals taking these courses can also get a certificate after successful completion of the class. Most of the online courses offered can be between 20 minutes and 2.5 hours in length.
Some other course titles provided by this training center are Corporate Compliance, Fraud, Waste, Abuse and Compliance Training and Cultural Competence: A Foundational Course. There are also HIPAA courses that vary in time length from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours. These HIPAA courses are available for new hires as well as for supervisors. In the healthcare field, it is important for professionals to know about the rules and regulations established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The credit types of many of these different courses can include Michigan continuing education credits (MI-CEC) and the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
