The Odyssey School educates children with dyslexia and other language learning differences. The school accepts children from five years old through middle school. It offers small group instruction, daily tutoring and individual skills building. It bases its program around four pillars: kindness, honesty, respect and hard work.
A group of parents established the school in 1994. As of 2015, it is located on 42 acres of land in the Greenspring Valley in Maryland.
The name of the school is taken from Homer's story of Ulysses' journey home from the Trojan War. It emphasizes each child's unique and personal journey to achieve success in life.
