Jon Kabat-Zinn is a professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts. He is also a writer, scientist, and meditation teacher. He is the founder of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the university’s medical school.
Kabat Zim is also the founder of the Stress Reduction Clinic, where he teaches about mindfulness. He has taught about mindfulness-based stress reduction in various institutions all over the world.
He has authored several books, as well as research papers about the clinical applications in reducing stress and promoting mindfulness. As a scientist, his research interests center on the body and mind interactions, the immune system, emotional expression under stress, and the impacts of mindfulness-based stress reduction on the brain.
