What Is the IQ Scale?

IQ scores range from one to over 200 with the average score being 100, as of 2014. Sixty-eight percent of all IQ scores are within one standard deviation of the average. This means that most people have an IQ score between 85 and 115.

Any score over 140 is considered to be a high IQ score, while scores above 160 are considered to be genius level. It is possible to have a score over 200; in this case, it is frequently referred to as unmeasurable genius. Having a high IQ is strongly linked to academic success, but some argue for the merits of emotional intelligence.
