You can find Hispanic scholarships and grants by searching websites such as Hispanic Scholarship Fund and College Scholarships. Your current or former high school guidance counselor may be able to make recommendations about specific Hispanic scholarships and grants that you qualify for.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund website provides many resources to help you locate Hispanic scholarships. Users can apply for Hispanic scholarships by completing the online application on the website. While the scholarships directly offered by the Fund award students who do not necessarily demonstrate high financial need, the amount of the award is higher for those with greater need. The site also provides information about the Gates Millennium Scholarship, which is open to Hispanic students who have a minimum 3.3 GPA and also qualify for the Pell Grant.
The College Scholarships site provides information about a variety of grants suitable for Hispanic students. Some of these are Federal grants that are not limited to Hispanic students, such as the Pell Grant and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant. Other grants and scholarships are limited to certain Hispanic students, such as the $2000 scholarships offered by the New Mexico Hispanic Women’s Council to Latino women who are full-time students at University of New Mexico or Central New Mexico Community College.
