Some good fashion colleges include the Fashion Institute of Technology located in New York City, Drexel University located in Philadelphia, and Rhode Island School of Design located in Providence, Rhode Island. The Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago are also good fashion colleges.
The Columbus College of Art and Design is strictly a design college and does not offer degrees in fashion marketing or business. Drexel University has had many students win international and national awards and go on to study at the Chambre Syndicale and land big jobs in France. There's also a study abroad program at the London College of Fashion for sophomore students. The school's design and merchandising program has a business component that prepares students for the fashion business.
The Rhode Island School of Design is purely a design school. Designer Nicole Miller is a graduate of the school. The Fashion Institute of Technology, commonly know as FIT, offers fashion design, fashion business and marketing, visual arts, textiles and many other fashion-related degrees. Famous graduates from FIT include Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors. The School of the Art Institute of Chicago has seen graduates such as Cynthia Rowley and Halston.
