Classroom games that work well for first grade students include Bingo, Hangman, Around the World, Get Out of Here, and Memory. Classroom games are an excellent way to keep students actively engaged in the learning process, and they can be used to teach spelling, math, phonics and other skills.
To play Around the World, two students compete against one another to answer a question correctly. The student with the first correct answer moves on to challenge the next student, and the winner of each question continues to travel around the classroom challenging others.
Hangman works well for teaching spelling and vocabulary, and Memory is a great way to review phonics and simple math facts.
